TRIP ON DIOMEDE.

ORDERS CANCELLED. Per Press Association. AUCKLAND, Aug. 26. Orders were received in Auckland to-day for the Diomede to leave the Devonport naval base to-morrow for AVellington, where the cruiser was to arrive at 9.30 a.m. on Thursday morning. These instructions, however, were cancelled to-night. It was learned that the members of the Japanese Goodwill Mission at present in New Zealand have to be back in Australia early next week. Before the orders were cancelled it was still uncertain whether they would be able to reach Sydney in time by the AVanganella. If other means of transport failed, it was believed that the Government, as a gesture of goodwill, would place the Diomede at the disposal of the mission for the trip.
