VOTE IN TEXAS

NEW YORK, Aug. 25.

A Dallas (Texas) message states that after 16 years of prohibition voters of this State which, in recent years, has been one of the few remaining “dry” strongholds, voted to permit the sale of alcoholic drink. Returns from yesterday’s referendum to-day indicated a “wet” plurality of 50,000 votes. 1 The electorate also adopted by an overwhelming margin an old age pension law.
