LAMBING PERCENTAGES.

EFFECT OF WEATHER. SETBACK EXPERIENCED. Lambing percentages on the flat country in the Manawatu district were stated "to have been averaging from 110 to 120 per cent, prior to the recent spell of bad weather, but this has set hack a season which otherwise would have opened very, favourably. Losses on the low-lying lands of the district are reported to have been severe during the last fortnight, though early lambs were strong enough to withstand the conditions. The full extent of the mortality will not be known until the lambs are docked. Lambing on the hill country is just starting, being usually in full swing by the end of August.
