MAGISTRATE’S COURT.

In the Magistrate’s Court yesterday, before Mr J. L. Stout, S.M., Robert Huddleston Pasley, grocer’s assistant, of Palmerston North, was charged that, with intent to defraud, by falsely representing that goods were for Christian AVilliam Sorensen, he did obtain from Barraud and Abraham, Ltd., chocolates to the value of 13s Id. He was also charged that, with intent to defraud, by falsely representing that tho goods were for Christian William Sorensen, he did obtain from the Para Rubber Coy. two motor tyres of a total value of £4 10s. Accused pleaded guilty to both charges. Detective Barling said the Sorensen referred to related to the Himitangi store. The total amount of restitution was £5 3s Id. Accused had represented that the goods were for the store. Accused said he was in receipt of £1 a week and keep, when questioned by the Magistrate. The Magistrate convicted accused and ordered him to come up for sentence within 12 months if called upon. Restitution is to be made at the rate of 10s a week.
