MATRON DISMISSED.
SENSATIONAL SEQUEL. NURSES RESIGN. Per Press Association. WAIHI. Aug. 21. The action of the AY’aihi Hospital Board last evening in dispensing with the services of tlie matron (Aliss K. AI. Stevenson) was followed by a sensational happening to-day, practically the whole of the nursing staff handing in tlieir resignations. The reason for tlie resignations was the nurses’ objection to the board’s decision to reinstate a nursing aid. The domestic staff of eight also resigned, due to Aliss Stevenson leaving the institution.
