GREATER ACTIVITY.
BRITISH INDUSTRY. (British Official Wireless.) Received August 22, 11.50 a.m. RUGBY, Aug. 21. The Board of Trade index for industrial production of the June quarter is 1.6 per cent, less than for the March quarter, but 6.3 per cent, greater than for tlie June quarter last year, the numbers for the three periods being 111.2. 111.0, 111.2, 113.0, and 104.0 respectively. Each group index for tho Juno quarter this year shows an improvement as compared with the same quarter of last year, and the manufacturing production as a whole was 7.1 per cent, greater.
