SANDON.

(From Our Own Correspondent.) SAX’DOX', Aug. 20.

At the recent drama festival organised by the North Wellington Federation of Women’s institutes, the local institute tied for second place with their play, "Cats and Kittens.” This is an excellent effort when ono takes into account the large number of other institutes competing. The members taking part were Miss R. Dwyer, Mrs A. Adar-s, Mrs J. Bcwater and Miss M. Murphy. 'The producer of the play was Miss M. McFarlune.

On Friday evening the members of the Bulls R.S.A. put on a concert in the Town Hall, but were unfortunate in that stormy weather reduced the attendance considerably. 'Those who were able to attend were provided with good entertainment. It is hoped that the concert will be repeated at a later date.
