FARMERS’ PARTY

END OF A NOTABLE TOUR. Since leaving London on the evening of July 3 the New Zealand farmers’ party on tour have spent strenuous days in almost unbroken sunshine, says a correspondent under date July 20. After their two days at the Royal Agricultural Show at Newcastle, they were in Scotland for a time, visiting Edinburgh ant! , Glasgow. They returned south to Liverpool and Chester, and then started a motor coach tour on July 12 of Wales and tho west country. The party visited Maiscinore Park, Gloucester, where they viewed Air J. J. Cridlan’s famous herd of Aberdeen _ Angus cattle. They continued to C'renccstor, where they were met at the Agricultural College by the principal (Air R. Boutficur; and other members of the staff. It was at this college that Lord Blcdisloe was a student and became a gold medallist, subsequently holding the position of chairman of its governing body. Lord Bloclisloc, who was attending the Naval Review, sent a letter regretting his inability to meet the New Zealand party at his old college. After a tour of inspection of the college and farm the party wore entertained at luncheon in college dining hall. I lie principal said the institution was the mother college of the whole of the agricultural education of the Empire, being founded in 1845. It was more or less the same size now as then, but next year they hoped to extend it considerably. After leaving Cirencester the visitors travelled 011 to Dursley, where a visit was made to an agricultural implement manufacturing plant. Bath was reached tho same evening. Then followed visits to Wells Cathedral, _ Wincanton, Yeovil, Bournemouth, the New Forest, Basingstoke, and ITerriard Park. The tour was completed in London on July 18. Some of the members of the party will be remaining in England for some time to coilio, and they will return to the Dominion independently.
