TWO PETITIONS HEARD.

On the ground of desertion, Ngalieino Campbell, of Dannevirke (Mr P. W. Dorrington), sought a divorce in the Supreme .Court at Palmerston North, to-day, before His Honour Mr Justice Blair, from Thomas Campbell, farmer, of Wairoa. Petitioner gave evidence that she was married on January 5, 1930, and lived at Maharaliara, there being one child of the marriage. Her husband • left her two months after the marriage; he had not returned and had not supported her. She had not seen him since. Corroborative evidence was given by litinia Karauia, of Oringi. His Honour granted a decree nisis, to be moved absolute at the expiration of three months, with custody of the child to petitioner and costs on the lowest scale against respondent. A petition for the restitution of conjugal rights was brought by William Edward Pine, labourer, of Palmerston North (Mr 'J'. E. Belling) against Karia Louise Pine. Petitioner gave evidence that ho was married in 1927, subsequently residing in Auckland and Hawera. There was one child of the marriage. His wife leit him on Juno 21, 1933, and had refused to return. He had custody of the child and was residing with his parents. -.William Pine, horse trainer, of Awapuni, gavo eoorroborativo evidence. His Honour granted a decree for the restitution of conjugal rights within 21 days.
