IN PEOPLE’S HEARTS. VICTORIA. (8.C.), July 18. “If war comes it will have been caused by the politicians, not by the people,” said the Prime Minister of Australia (Mr J. A. Lyons) to-day before leaving en route to San Francisco. “1 am sure that war thoughts do not spring from the hearts of tlie people in any country. We should take all Government heads once a year to the battlefields of Fiance and let them meditate. While you in Canada have not completed a great war memorial, neither have we. It is unbelievable that countries would wish to go to war.” Mr J .y6ns urged closer friendship and a more equitable scale of trade relations between Canada and Australia. He believed better relations between the Pacific countries would bring a more stable world confidence.
