OBITUARY.
MR W. G. RUSSELL. LONDON, July IS. The death has occurred of Mr George William Russell, the Irish writer and painter, at the age ol 68. George William Russell ( 'A.E. ) had for many years been one of the outstanding literary figures in Ireland. Known chiefly for his poems, lie had also written other works, and was from 1923 to 1930 editor of the “Irish Statesman.” His earliest publications were “Homeward,” “Songs by the Way,” and “The Earth Breath.” His collected poems were published in 1913. His last book, “The Avatars,” was published in 1933. MR R. D. KELLY. Per Press Association. NAPIER, JuU 19. The death has occurred of Mr Robert Daniel Kelly, who was at one time chief postmaster at Wellington and Auckland.
