RONGOTEA.
(From Our Own Correspondent.) RONGOTEA, July 16. Considerable interest was shown in the Douglas Social Credit movement at a meeting held in Rongotca on Saturday evening. Colonel Closcy (Auckland) was the speaker and Mr L. H. Yarrall was chairman. There was only a moderate attendance at the hall when Mr C. M. Hume (Hamilton) lectured on the subject of “Herd testing.” Mr R. Craig (president of the Farmers’ Union in this district) introduced the speaker. Lantern slides with diagrams and statistics of herd testing added to the interest. At its monthly meeting last evening, the Rongotea Town Board struck the general rate, and also the sanitary rate, which remain the same as the previous year. Accounts totalling £6O 15s 4d were passed for payment.
