Mrs P. H. Rowe has returned to Hamilton from a visit to Palmerston North. Miss Alma Christensen, who lias been visiting friends at Longburn, has returned to her Lome at Oroua Downs. ' Mrs Cyril King, of Palmerston North, is visiting Paraparajnnu Beach.
Mr and Mrs J. P. Connell and family have returned to Oroua Downs from a holiday spent in Wellington. Mesdames R. T. Tidswell, W. Trueman and F. Austin will represent the Palmerston North branch of the Plunket Society, at the provincial conference of the society, which is to open at Wanganui on Friday. Mesdames Trueman and Austin are from the Foxton subbranch. The death occurred yesterday at the residence of her daughter, Airs L. Smith, Avcnuo Road, Foxton, of Mrs Ellen Dudson, aged 82 years. Mrs Dudson was horn in London in 1853 and came to Now Zealand in the company of her parents in
the sailing ship Mystery, 78 years ago. Mr and Mrs Dudson, went to oKxton 43 years ago, where they resided for many years. Mr Dudson predeceased his wife 31 years ago and subsequently Mrs Dudson spent a short time in resideneo in Palmerston North, but returned after a time to livo with her daughter, Mrs L. Smith, in Avenue Read. She is survived by two daughters, Mrs E. J. Foote (Marton), and Sirs L. Smith (Foxton), and two sons, Messrs A. Dudson (Pahiatua) and E. Dudson (Auckland).
