KOPANE.
(From Our Own Correspondent.) KOPANE, Juno 24. The Kopane A ladies’ basketball team met the liosina team at the Rosina grounds and after a close game Kopane emerged tbe winners by 20 goals to 16. On Saturday morning the combined Ko-pane-Kairanga football team met (lie Ran-giotu-Baincsse team at Kopane. Tt was a very patchy game and Kopane showed themselves superior over a much lighter team bv 12 points to nil. Tbe trios were all scored by Allen Hill, and a penalty goal was kicked. Mr G. Hill carried the whistle. The school was closed on Friday, as the Show holiday. Mr E. Winters has returned home after spending a holiday in Hawkeb Bay. Mr Bruce Gibbs, of U'tiku, is staying with Mrs R. Glasgow. The ninny friends of Mr and Mrs W. A. Thomson will he pleased to learn that their son Jack has returned home from a private hospital and is now able to get about on crutches.
