KEYKNUE POSITION. Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, June 22. Tlie General Manager of Railways announced to-day on behalf of the Railways Board the financial results of tlie railway working lor the second tour-weekly period of the present financial year. For the four weeks ended A lay 2o there was an increase in gross revenue of £21,872, as compared with the same period last year, and an increase in expenditure of £22,600, making a decrease in net revenue of £728. The expenditure this year includes the 5 per cent, increase in salaries and wages, amounting approximately to £l2 000 for the period, which did not appear in last year’s accounts. The position for the two periods of the current financial year shows an increase in net revenue of £904, after allowing for the expenditure involved in the restoration of the salary and wages “cuts.”
