AVIATION TRAGEDY.
VICTORIAN COUPLE KILLED. MELBOURNE, May 26. Mr G. P. Fairbairn, of the wellknown Victorian pastoralist family, and his wife were killed to-day when their, aeroplane crashed after taking off from Essendon aerodrome for a flight to their home immediately after taking off, the motor cut oiit, and the machine went into a spin and crashed on to a road, narrowly missing a motor-truck, slrs Fairbairn learned to fly in England in 1930, and in, the following year made a leisurely flight to Australia. Airs Fairbairn was at the controls when the accident occurred. ONE MAN SUCCUMBS. Received May 27, 10.5 a.m. BRISBANE, May 27. Mr Martin Cosgrove, one of the three men injured in the aeroplane crash, died in hospital. Tho other two are recovering.
