AVOODVILLE, May 24. The members of the Ladies’ Relief Committee were the guests of Mrs J. Elder, Grant Road, on AA'ednesday afternoon. Mrs Elder explained to the meeting that as Airs 11. P. llornc was now the Mayoress it was necessary to make fresh arrangements in connection with the administration of relief funds. After reading the report and audited balance-sheet, Alt’s Elder expressed her pleasure at the presence of the Mayoress and wished her every success in her position. Airs llorne, ill thanking Airs Elder, staled that she knew Airs Elder’s task had not been an easy one, hut she was sure that everyone would agree with Iter in that Airs Elder had given veomnn service to the community. She presented Aft’S Elder with a handsome bouquet of roses and autumn-toned foliage.
