COMMISSIONER’S DATIONS.CANBERRA, March 13. The Wheat Commission’s recommendations, which were before the Federal Ministerial Party tc-day, suggest that immediate action should be taken to create a home consumption price of wheat and a compulsory marketing scheme, the home consumption price to lie financed by excise duty on flour. This procedure is already jn operation in connection with tile current harvest. Boards to administer marketing and the home consumption price are recommended by the commission, which also suggests that groups of farmers be assisted to obtain machinery and helped to reduce overhead costs. Stevens says that although he has not had time to thoroughly examine the Wheat Commission’s report he has formed the impression that in some particulars the recommendations will not meet with the approval of the State Government or the wheat-growers.
