YESTERDAY S BUSINESS AND PRICES. A featureless market yesterday saw a slightly smaller turnover recorded on the Wel!ington_ Stock Exchange Government loans were inclined to be a shade firmer. The 31 per cent stock, 1936-52, sold at £lO5 15s, aad two parcels of 4 per cent stock, 1955, were done at £llO 15s. Bank issues were very quiet, with no recorded business. Buyers were in for Australasia at £ll, sellers holding for £ll 10s. Commercial of Australia were hid for at 16s, sellers wanting 4d better. Now Zealand were dull at 495, but the D mortgage shares were a point up at 32s Id. Reserve Bank were wanted at £6 10s. Little interest was shown in gas. meat, freezing, coal or timber shares. There was a better inquiry for insurance issues at the lower range of values recently reached. Breweries showed little quotable change. A slightly better tone was shown in miscellaneous industrial and trading issues. Broken Hill Proprietary were firm at 51s 6d, with sellers ill at 525. Colonial Sugar again had sales at £4l 12s 6d. Australian Glass were wanted at 575, sellers looking for 60s. Mining issues were very dull. TESTER DAY’S QUOTATIONS.
