TREATMENT OF CANCER.
THE ALTERNATIVE SYSTEM. Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, March 13. Several doctors who attended the Surgeons’ Congress in Melbourne returned by the Wanganella to-day, among them being Sir Louis Barnett. In an interview, Sir Louis spoke of numerous valuable addresses delivered by visiting authorities from Europe and America. In regard to cancer, he said that reports ot careful investigations into the relative merits of radiation and surgical operations were laid before the Fellows and from these it could be seen that while operative procedures were still desirable in a considerable number of cases it was seen early that radiation as a.n alternative means of treatment was steadily gaining ground and found special importance in even what might be considered incurable cases from the operative point of view.
