QUESTION OF SEAWORTHINESS. NO GROUNDS FOR BELIEF. INQUIRIES PROCEEDING. (United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph. —Copyright.) (British Official Wireless.) Received March 13, 11. P a.m. RUGBY, March 12. Questioned to-day about the recent losses of British steamships at sea, the President of the Board of Trade (Mr Walter Runciman) replied that in the cases in which inquiries had been completed there was no evidence that the vessels were unseaworthy or undermanned. Inquiries were still proceeding in regard to the loss of the Blairgowrie and the Usworth and the question of seaworthiness would, of course, be examined, but there was no doubt that the two vessels were adequately manned. The loss of tho Usworth would in due course form the subject of a formal investigation. It would depend on the results of the preliminary inquiries whether similar investigations would bo made in the cases of the Blairgowrie and the oil tanker La Crescenta.
