TRAFFIC TALLIES.

IN KAIRANGA COUNTY. Some interesting statistics pertaining to the motor traffic traversing the county’s roads were presented by the engineer (Mr L. C. Pickering) at yesterday’s meeting of the Kairanga County Council. The period over which the tally was taken was January 25 to 31 inclusive and the statistics were: Foxton Line.—Cars, 4802; average per day, 6SG (per centage of total, 69). Trucks, 1273; average per day, 182 (18 per cent). Buses, 60; average per day. 9 (1 per cent). Other motor vehicles, 825, average per day, 118 (12 per per cent). Rangitikei Line.—Cars, 4726; average per day, 675 (76 per cent). Trucks, 838; average per day, 120 (13.5 per cent). Buses, 186; average, per day, 2b (3 per cent). Other motor vehicles, 446: Average per day, 64 (7.5 per cent). Kairanga-Bunnythorpe Road, at Taonui end.—Cars, 618: average per dav, 88 (75.5 per cent). Trucks, 134; average 19 (16 per cent). Buses, nil. Other" motor vehicles, 72 ; average per day, 10 (8.5 per cent). Kairanga-Bunnythorpe __ Road, at Mangaone end.—Cars, 1656; average, 236 (77 per cent). Trucks, 254 ; average, 41 (13 per cent). Buses, 6, average per day, 1. Other motor vehicles, 203; average, 29 (10 per cent). Allison’s Line.—Cars, 290; average per day, 41 (65.5 per cent). Trucks, 86; average per day, 12 (17 per cent). Buses, 25, average per day, 3 (5.5 per cent). Other vehicles, 42; average, 6 (9 per cent). Cameron’s Line.—Cars, 282 ; average. 40 (67 per cent).
