BURGLAR IN THEATRE.
CONSIDERABLE SUM STOLEN. Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, March 11. During Saturday night, entrance was effected to the office of the Princess Theatre. The safe was blown open and Saturday night’s takings and other cash amounting to a considerable sum stolen. The intruder must have climbed up a pipe on the side of the building and then gained access through a fanlight above the dress circle. He must have performed a feat of acrobatics in reaching the metal truss six or seven feet below the fanlight, and thence dropped into the dress circle. Then he had to scale a 12ft partition to get into the office, the door of which was locked. After opening the safe and removing the contents, lie dropped into the stalls and escaped by climbing over the ticket' box in the lobby.
