LATE MR C. T. P. ULM.
PRESUMPTION OF DEATH. SYDNEY, March 11. Events associated with the disappearance of Mr. Charles Ulm and Ins companions on their ill-fated flight from America to Honolulu were related in the Probate Court to-day. when counsel sought leave to swear to the deaths of Messrs Ulm and George Littlejohn, a member of the crew of the ’plane. Sir Charles Kingsford Smith’s affidavit expressed the opinion that the ’plane sank within a few minutes of touching water in the vicinity of Honolulu. Sir Charles is also convinced that the American authorities at Honolulu made exhaustive and magnificent efforts to locate the ’plane. No good purpose would have been served by further prolonging them. Mr Ulm’s widow and private secretary also gave evidence regarding Mr Ulm’s intention to establish a regular air service between America and Australia.
The Court granted both applications
