Cnllcsen was in the chair and those present were Messrs J. Mahoney, W. Weddell, E. Lemberg and X. Campbell. It was decided that, a letter of appreciation be sent to Misses Reeves and Davidson for their help in training the children for the farewell evening accorded Mr and Mrs C. C. Hills. It was also decided to write to the secretary of the Tenuis Club asking him to see that members do not play during school hours.

Mrs R. Tanner, of “Lonsdale.” Karere, has returned homo after visiting her daughter, Mrs D. Vowles, of Wel.ington. Mr R D. Knight has returned home after a holiday spent in Auckland. Mrs Gould, of Hawera, and Mrs M. McDonald, of Johnsonvillo, have returned Ihome after spending a few days as the guests of Miss Voss, Karere. Mrs H. Wingate and Mrs R. D. Knight arc spending a holiday visiting Auckland. Mrs C. C. Hills has gone to Cambridge, where she is the guest of her daughter. Mrs J. Paul. Miss Gwen Mellor and Mr Jack Cullen have returned home to Napier after upending their holidays a? the guests of Airs Zureher. A tennis match was played between Kairanga and Longburn schools on Friday

afternoon. All the matches were keenly contested and some excellent play was witnessed. The games were refereed by Miss Reeve and Messrs Cummins, Davey and Campbell. Afternoon tea was served under the supervision of Miss Davidson. Thelma Davey rendered thanks to the members of the Longburn team and Victor Learmonth suitably replied. The match resulted in a win for Kairanga by 10 sets and 80 games to 6 sets and 60 games.
