A FIRMER MARKET. Joseph Nathan and Coy., Ltd., have received from London tho following cabled advice, dated March 9:—New Zealand but-, tor, 76s per cwt. Firm. New Zealand cheese, white, 45s to 45s 6d per cwt) coloured, 465. Firm. SYDNEY WOOL SALES. PRICES FIRM; COMPETITION STRONG. SYDNEY, 51 arch 11. At the wool sales 11,256 bales were offered and 9726 sold, also 1903 privately. Prices were firm at closing lates of the last Sydney series for all good wools, but were 5
per cent, lower and irregular for inferior sorts. Competition was strong and general, Yorkshire and Japan predominating. Greasy Merino made 153 d. TALLOW 7 AND HEMP.
The Department of Agriculture has received tho following cable, dated March 9, from the High Commissioner for New Zealand, London: — Tallow.—Market firm, with little offering. Nominal quotations slightly higher. Hemp.—Manila market quiet but steady. “IC” grade for March-May shipment quoted buyers at £l3. Sisal market steady, with values unchanged. New Zealand market unchanged.
