NEED FOR CARE
FOOD IN HOT WEATHER. * Per Press Association. CHRISTCHURCH, March 11. A warning to people to live “from hand to month” as much as possible was issued this morning by Dr. Boyd, the relieving medical officer of health in Canterbury. He meant by that, lie said, that they should buy foodstuffs liable to deteriorate only in quantities to satisfy immediate needs. Food should not be kept. The warning was issued in connection with a record of thirteen cases of food poisoning notified to the Christchurch office of the department during the week ended at noon to-day. Dr. Boyd said that the cases were all located in the Timaru district, and were fortunately of a mild nature. There was no need for alarm, but it was advisable that people should take reasonable precautions while the present hot weather continued: ,
