PARAGUAYAN ADVANCES. ASUNCION (Paraguay), March 2. The Paraguayan Ministry of Defencej in a communique, announced that Paraguayan forces have crossed the Paratiti River to begin the longexpected invasion of Bolivia proper after wiping out the garrison of 300 men at Tamachinay. To the south the Paraguayans continued pressing the defence of Villamontes. the Bolivian army bnee, having pushed the defenders back half a mile in some places.
