FABULOUS SALARY.
GRACIE FIELDS £3 A MINUTE. Gracie Fields, once a Lancashire factory girl, has contracted with Associated Talking Pictures to star in four films at the rate of £3 a minute, states the Daily Mail. She will receive in salary £150,000 over two years—a higher income than Greta Garbo’s record. Her next film will be a Yorkshire comedy by J. B. Priestley, who wrote “Sing as We Go,” which was worth £28,000 to Gracie Fields in salary.
