DELAY BY WEATHER. MACHINE TURNS BACK. TO AVOID RISK. (United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright.) Received February 16, 12.25 p.m. DARWIN, Feb. 16. Strong headwinds over the Timor Sea caused the Imperial Airways air liner Astrea to return to Darwin after travelling 100 miles from the Australian coast. Captain Youell, the pilot of the Astrea, decided that with only' six hours’ flying range he would have too small a margin of safety for the flight to lvoepang. The ’plane will leave again to-day.
