Mr Johannes Andersen and Sirs Andersen, who were visitors to Palmerston North yesterday, returned to Wellington in the afternoon. It is unlikely that Mr Tnu Henare, M.P. for Northern Maori, will be able to take liis seat in Parliament until the present session is some weeks old. He is confined to bed at his Motatau home. Mr J. W. Woodcock, who for the past four years has been crop - experimentalist on the staff of tne F ie»ds Division of the Department of Agriculture at Palmerston North, lias been transferred to Wellington.
Mr J. I. Goldsmith, J.P., the president of the South African War Veterans Association, has agreed to the request of a deputation to contest the Wellington South seat as a Democratic candidate, subject to confirmation by the executive of the party, states a Press Association message.
It is announced that Mr S. A. Ferguson of Morrinsville, who lias been chairman of the South Auckland Dairy Association for the past ten yeais, lias been nominated for the northern ward seat on the new Dairy Produce Board. Mr Ferguson was a member of the old Dairy Board a few years ago. Candidates previously announced have been Messrs W. Grounds, of Hokianga, A. J. Murdoch, M.P. for Marsden, Appleton, of Northern Wairoa, and M. Wells, of Cambridge.
