OROUA DOWNS SPORTS.
Wednesday, February 27, has been set down for tho nineteenth annual meeting of the Oroua Downs Sports Club and the fixture this year, as usual, will be held on the sports grounds opposite the hall. The programme lias been extended and the value of cups and trophies has been considerably enhanced. There are 22 items on tho comprehensive programme, independent of the big list of Highland events and the programme has boon so arranged as to cater for all tastes. The judges this year will be Mr Iv. Duncan for the horse events and Mr T. Glen for the Highland items. Competitors in the athletic section arc reminded that they must send their entries in to the secretary, on or before February 18. As usual, liberal catering arrangements have been made this year. Admission will be Is 6d; school children free; vehicles Is. A special section of interest to tho ladies will bn the sponge roll and sponge sandwich competitions. If more particulars are desired, see advertisement in this istue or communicate with the secretary (Mr R. Gates) who will post you a printed copy.
