THE ADVISORY COMMITTEE. LONDON, Feb. 14. The chairman of the Wheat Advisory Committee announces that, pending a clarification of the position between tour overseas exporters, no useful purpose can be served by a full meeting on March 5, which has accordingly been postponed. I The meeting was asked for by Argentina, Australia, Canada, and the United States for file purpose of seeking an agreement regarding an extension of or amendments to the wheat agreement. GRAIN FUTURE ACT. PENALTY FOR VIOLATION. WASHINGTON, Feb. 14. A special Cabinet Committee composed of Messrs H. A. Wallace (Secretary of Agriculture), D. C. Roper (Secretary of Commerce), and H. S. Cummings (Attorney-General) found Arthur Cutten, one of the large speculators on the Chicago Board of Trade, guilty of violation of several provisions of the so-called Grain Futures Act. He was prohibited from trading on any exchange in the nation for two years. The committee declared that he frequently failed to report holdings in excess of 500,000 bushels, as required by law. operated through eight firms, and disguised his dealings to manipulate prices.
