PALMERSTON NORTH FIGURES. REVENUE SHOWS INCREASE. In the period from December 15 to January 15 there were 5252 single tickets issued at the Palmerston North railway station and 7497 return tickets, their total value being £4530 0s 4d. in the corresponding period a year ago there were 4753 single tickets issued and 7887 return tickets, of a total value of £4446 0s Bd. -Although the num ber of return tickets issued in t lie rJ. 3 435 period showed, a drop of 340, tne single fares paid increased by 4JJ when the numbers are compared with those of the corresponding period a year ago. The revenue showed an increase tor tn 1934-35 period of £B3 12s 4d while the number of seat reservations made at Palmerston North also increased. For the Manawatu race meeting on December 2G, 27 and 29 there were 1601 tickets issued at Palmerston North in 1934, while for the corresponding period of 1933 the number was loid. the revenue from them being £142 9d and £133 17s 9d respectively, there thus being an increase ot £8 6s Ud in the 1934 revenue. There were 44J tickets issued for the race meeting at Marton on January 1 and 2 o. this year, their value being £n 8s 3d, -nliUe for the corresponding meeting ot a year ago there were 38l tickets issued which produced £65 7s 6d, the revenue for this year’s issue showing an increase of £l2 0s 9d over that derived from last year’s race traffic to Marton.
