HORTICULTURAL SOCIETY.

A meeting of the committee of the Palmerston North Horticultural Society was held on Thursday. Mr A. AA . Just was unanimously re-elected chairman. There was a good -attendance. February 123 was the (late fixed lor the Dahlia Show. It was decided to hold the Chrynantlicinuin Show on May l and 2. Holding a. two days’ show is a new departure. On the first day the show will he open from 2 p.m. to 10 p.m., and on the second day from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. .Judges and stewards were appointed for the Dahlia Show;. Mrs Just was appointed convener of the ladies’ committee; Mr A. J. Shader, of the staging committee; Messrs AV. L. H. Chapman and H. J. Oder conveners of the door committee; and Mr J. 11. Morgan, convener of the vase committee. It was decided to forward a letter of sympathy to Mr AV. V. Kingsboer in his illness. Sub-committees were appointed to revise schedules and to revise rules, and to consider conditions for Mr W. G. Black’s trophy. A’arious alterations in the schedules were suggested bv members. It was notified that subscriptions wore now due for the current yeai (four shows). ’
