FRIENDLY SOCIETIES

LOYAL MANAvVATU LODGE. The fortnightly meeting of the Loyal Manawatu Lodge was held on Thursday, a large number of members being present. Four members were initiated into the order. Bro. M. Clark was appointed to the juvenile committee in place of Bro. L. Sweetie an, who had resigned. The V.G. extended a welcome to a member from the Loyal Wanganui Lodge. A letter was received from the Orient Lodge congratulating Bro. S. J. Watson on his 40 veins’ service at secretary of the lodge. The lodge decided to put on record the services of Bro. Watson for the lodge during that time. A report was given on the Friendly Societies’ Council’s annual picnic. After lodge, supper was supplied to members, after which dancing and bowls were enjoyed.
