AT WANGANUI SALE. KEEN COMPETITION DISPLAYED. Per Press Association. WANGANUI, Jan. 17. Medium crossbreds were firm at late rates at the Wanganui wool sale to-day. Bellies and pieces were par to slightly dearer and crutchings i<l dearer. All the wool showing quality and style was keenly competed for. Germany operated for suitable w ools. Bradford was tlio most active operator, with France next. There were a number of passings. BRISK COMPETITION. LONDON SALES CONTINUED. Received January 17, 1.5 p.m. LONDON, Jan. 16. At the wool sales 8775 bales were offered, including 1827 from New Zealand. About 7690 Australian and New Zealand were sold. There was brisk Home and Continental competition and full opening rates were maintained. New Zealand scoured halfbred combing branded Glenmore brought 23d (top price) and averaged 20d.
