ROY’S SUDDEN DEATH.

AIARTON SPORTS TRAGEDY. Further particulars of the distressing death of Noel llainsworth at the sports meeting of the Alarton Athletic ( lull on Tuesday show that the evening’s programme had been completed with the exception ot one event when the tragedy occurred. The programme was then abandoned. llainsworth, who was 13 years of age, collapsed when competing in a 440 yards foot race. Only a very small section of the record crowd saw the hoy fall. He was promptly attended to by members ot the Alarton Division of St. John Ambulance and a doctor was sent for. The ambulance officials adopted every possilmeans to bring the lad round, hut when the doctor arrived lie could only pronounce life extinct. AA lien the president of the club (Air S. B. Abel) made the announcement an air of gloom was cast over the gathering. The deceased hoy was the eldest son of Mr and Airs John Hainsworth of Alexander Street. His mother was at the sports. She stated that tlie boy suffered from a weak heart.
