ALL SAINTS’ MEN’S CLUB.

CHRISTMAS CHEER FUNCTION. Organised by All Saints’ Aten’s club, in aid of the vicar’s fund for the distressed during the Christmas season, a large assemblage attended a function this week in All Saints’ hall, which was gaily decorated with streamers having a design which gave a festive appearance. The function, which was directed by Air H E- Bennett, was opened by members standing as a mark of sympathy with the relatives of the late Air Allan Sherman. Arranged by the entertainment committee a well diversified programme was then rendered. Items were given by the Harmonica Band, Air and Airs Cronquest (Shannon), Aliss AVhittaker, Air S. AV. Oliver “Uncle Dan,” Airs Davys' (Shannon), and Air J. Renwick. Mr J. Selwyn conducted community singing. The hall was later cleared and supper was served by a willing band of helpers, and dancing then occupied the rest of the evening, Alessrs T. Smith and J. Penkoth being M.C.’s. The lucky spot waltz ’was won by Aliss N. Stubbs and Air Cronquest. Alusic for the dances was supplied by Airs Davys, Airs Hunt, and Messrs Lloyd, Caple, and Renwick. Rev. F. 0. Ball later thanked the people for attending, and helping the club in its efforts towards charity.
