LINTON.
(From Our Own Correspondent.) LINTON, Nov. 19. There were present at the School Committee meeting, hold lust week, Messrs T. Lynch (chairman), E. Crawford (secretary), C. Crawford, R. Beckett, J. Lauridson, and J. Stewart (headmaster). The headmaster reported that the new school building was now completed and the children would bo moving in shortly. The committee decided to have an official opening on November 30 and are inviting members of the Wanganui. Education Board and Mr J. M. Murdoch (retired headmaster) (o bo present. The function will take the form of a social afternoon, and the ladies of the district are being asked to provide refreshments. It is hoped that all the residents of the district will make an effort to ho present and have the opportunity of inspecting this most up-to-date building, which is a great credit to the Wanganui Education Board. Friends of Mr G. Merriman will regret to learn that ho is still an inmate of the hospital.
