PUBLICITY FOR DOMINION.

POOR IN AUSTRALIA. Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, Nov. 12. “The thing that distressed me while I was in Melbourne was the poor supply of information regarding New Zealand in the Australian newspapers,” said Mr D. G. Sullivan, M.P., when interviewed on his arrival by the Monowai from the Centenary celebrations. “As a matter of fact, Australians, both Press and public, are not interested in New Zealand. Some people in Melbourne and Western Australia think New Zealand is a suburb of Sydney. “It amounts to a positive scandal. I don’t know at which end the fault lies, but I wouldn’t lie surprised to find it was due to the Australian end, because of Australian parochialism. That is to say, it may be due to the same thing as the fact that the Sydney Press and public take very little interest in Melbourne. That applies to any of the other cities,” Mr Sullivan added.
