EXCELLENT NOMINATIONS FOR SPRING MEETING.

The response from owners and trainers lari evening when the nominations for the Feilding Jockey Club’s spring meeting closed must have been very satisfactory to the officers of the club. Every event has filled well, first day fields numbering as many as 24 horses, while on the second day the Rongotea Hack Plate—a mile and a quarter contest —which carries with it a stake of £IOO and a canteen of cutlery valued at £l6 which has been presented by Mr L. T. McLean, has drawn the big field of 31 nominations, while tho succoeding event finds the same number engaged. The complete list of nominations i» as follows:
