In the annual report of the Fluenol Proprietary, Ltd., reference is made to the death of the managing director, the late Mr Cecil W. Palmer, which conveys to Mrs Palmer and relatives recognition of Mr Palmer’s long and valuable work and which expresses sentiments of sympathy with them. The year, the report states, has been a difficult one. On the one hand higher payments have had to be met' on account of exchange on raw materials and taxation, and, on the other hand, the buying power of the public has been reduced. The policy pursued by the . directors has been fully justified by the satisfactory result achieved. The statement of accounts showed the net profit for the year ended September 30, 1934, as £1213 3s 9d, after making adequate allowance for bad debts, depreciation on building, stock, plant, etc., and also after providing for directors’ fees and income tax for the current year. It is recommended by the directors that a dividend of 8 per cent, per annum, absorbing £440, be paid for the year, that £SOO be transferred to a reserve account, and that the balance remain in the appropriation account. The report also states that the directors arc at the present time making every endeavour to place on a firm footing the manufacture and distribution of Q-tol in the Commonwealth of Australia, and the prospects look particularly bright, but it is pointed out that it must be remembered that it will take a considerable time to establish Q-tol-FJuenzol products firmly on the Australian market, as it did in New Zealand. *
