VINTAGE WINS METROPOLITAN. MOBILE’S SPRINT.' Per Press Association. CHRISTCHURCH, Nov. 11. The Canterbury Jockey Club’s Metropolitan meeting was concluded on Saturday. Tho totalisator investments amounted to £35,774 (win £14,374 10s, place £21,399 10s) as compared with £38,325 last year. Tho total for the meeting was £115,311 10s, as afainst £110,164 10s. Wino and Vitaphone were the leaders at the half mile and they were first to turn for home with Palatinate, Cottingham, Sky Rover, Semper Paratus and Heather Glow also prominent. In a close finish, Sky Rover won by a head from Semper Paratus, with Hostile two lengths farther away. Palatinate was fourth. Time, 1.41.

Elbanor was followed into the straight by Secret Paper and Colossian, with Owlsgleam, Tunneller, Quite Soon, and Boila Rosa close up. In a good finish Quite Soon boat Maroha by a neck, Colossian being a similar distance farther away. Tunneller was fourth. Time, 1.26.

Passing the far turn Rebel Star and Red Manfred were followed by Great Star, Davolo, Southdown, Some Shamble, and Gold Trail. Rebel Star was followed by Great Star crossing the top, and these two led on to the course proper from Davolo, Vintage, Gold Trail, Reel Manfred, Southdown, Sweet Agnes, and Polydora. Vintage drew out at the distance and won easily by two lengths from Southdown. Gold Trail was a nock farther away, and Polydora was fourth. Time, 2.30 2-5. OTAIO PLATE, of £250.
