VINTAGE WINS METROPOLITAN. MOBILE’S SPRINT.' Per Press Association. CHRISTCHURCH, Nov. 11. The Canterbury Jockey Club’s Metropolitan meeting was concluded on Saturday. Tho totalisator investments amounted to £35,774 (win £14,374 10s, place £21,399 10s) as compared with £38,325 last year. Tho total for the meeting was £115,311 10s, as afainst £110,164 10s. (Ridgway) 2 12-12 HOSTILE, 9.0 (Barr) ... ... 3 Also started: 4-4 Cottingham 10.3, 1-2 Heather Glow 10.1, 7-5 Revision 9.13, 2-1 Honest Maid 9.7, 3-6 Palantinate, 9-9 Wino, 10-lD Vitaphone, 11-11 Streamline, 8-8 Chaste 9.0.

Wino and Vitaphone were the leaders at the half mile and they were first to turn for home with Palatinate, Cottingham, Sky Rover, Semper Paratus and Heather Glow also prominent. In a close finish, Sky Rover won by a head from Semper Paratus, with Hostile two lengths farther away. Palatinate was fourth. Time, 1.41.

Elbanor was followed into the straight by Secret Paper and Colossian, with Owlsgleam, Tunneller, Quite Soon, and Boila Rosa close up. In a good finish Quite Soon boat Maroha by a neck, Colossian being a similar distance farther away. Tunneller was fourth. Time, 1.26.

Cranford was four lengths clear of Mobile at the half-mile, and he entered tho straight three lengths in front of Mobile, with Cricket Bat, Silver Streak, and Red Boa next. Mobile drew out in the run homo and won by three lengths from Cricket Bat, with Cranford a length and a half away from tho second horse. Silver Streak was fourth. Time, 1.24 2-5. Round Up and Penelope were first to show out, and on to the course proper Round Up and Bun Fight were closely attended by Honour’s Lad, Hororata, Penelope, and Silver Coat. Red Manfred and Rebel Star led out of tho straight, but Rebel Star had charge at the mile from Groat Star, Rod Manfred, Davolo Vintage, Southdown, and Somo Shamble. Passing the far turn Rebel Star and Red Manfred were followed by Great Star, Davolo, Southdown, Some Shamble, and Gold Trail. Rebel Star was followed by Great Star crossing the top, and these two led on to the course proper from Davolo, Vintage, Gold Trail, Reel Manfred, Southdown, Sweet Agnes, and Polydora. Vintage drew out at the distance and won easily by two lengths from Southdown. Gold Trail was a nock farther away, and Polydora was fourth. Time, 2.30 2-5. OTAIO PLATE, of £250. Ellis) 2 1-2 SCRATCHMERE SCAR, 9.4 (Didham) 3 Also started : 8-8 Strong Light car. 7.12, 6- Heather Glow car. 8.0, 3-4 Sungem 8.2, 9-9 Importance car. 7.8, 4-3 Sibella 7.8, 7 5 Earthquake 7.8, 10-10 Pink Lapel 7.7. Earthquake was followed into the straight by Heather Glow,' Scratchmere Scar, Sungem, and Hunting Go. The last named finished well to win by a neck from Tout le Monde, with Scratchmere Scar two lengths away third and Earthquake fourth. Time, 2.5 2-5.

AA’ith a furlong covered, Synagogue had charge from Ilostis, Knockout, and Master Reynard, but Hostis led at tho six furlongs and was followed across the top by Synagogue. Knockout, Wonderful, Gas Mask, and Tauramai, Hostis and Synagogue entered tho straight leading Knockout, Wonderful, and Tauramai. Synagogue then drew out at tho distance and won by two lengths from Tauramai. Hostis was a length farther away, and Knockout fourth'. Time, 1.39 3-5. CRESSY HANDICAP, of £225. Ono mile.

Grecian Prince and Fair Weather piloted the field across the top and wore followed into the straight by Gaysome, Sam Smith, Kamal Pasha, and Ranelagh. Grecian Prince and Fair Weather were still in command at tho distance, hut Sam Smith drew out and won by two lengths from Fair AVcather, with Gaysome a similar distance away. Kamal Paslia was fourth.
