GAOL SENTENCE.
FOR GAMING OFFENCE
Per Press Association. CHRISTCHURCH, Nov. 9. Walter Ahfeld, who pleaded guilty, was seutenced to six weeks’ imprisonment by the Magistrate (Mr Young) this morning on a charge of keeping a common gaming house at 107 Worcester Street. This followed a police raid.
Ahfeld had been twice previously convicted. The Magistrate said he wars a bookmaker on a large scale.
