APIA, Nov. 7,
The Administrator announced at a Legislative Council meeting that the Samoan banana quota had been increased, commencing in January next, by 3000 cases during the months from May to September,, and 4000 cases in other months. Union Company steamers will handle the increase. The announcement was received with great satisfaction by planters. Production is now considerably in excess of the present quota. The additional cash distributed will help to stimulate the retail trade, which is at present stagnant.
