LAMBS FOR CHRISTMAS.
SHIPMENT FROM MANAWATU
Lambs from the Manawatu district will be on the Yuletide menu in many English homes. For a week from October 29, at the Longburn freezing works, several thousand lambs were killed, dressed and despatched for the Christmas trade at Home. They averaged about 321bs each. On. Tuesday next the works will reopen for the lamb killing season proper, and should reach the peak of operations about the middle of December.
