MAGISTRATE’S COURT.
PLEA OF GUILTY.
Before Messrs J. W. Brannvell and F. S. Guy, J.P.’s, at the Feilding Court yesterday afternoon, a young man, John Barnard, appeared on remand charged with a certain offence. Sergeant Angland conducted the prosecution and Mr A. M. (Jngley appeared for accused.
At the end of the evidence counsel submitted that tlie charge had not been substantiated, although the facts related by a girl witness and confirmed by accused in Ills statement to the police were not disputed. The Bench considered the position and held that a prima facie case had been made out and that it must go on to the Supreme Court. A plea of guilty was then entered by accused who was committeed to the Supreme Court for sentence.
