POHANGINA
(From Our Own Correspondent.) POHANGINA, Nov. 8.
In aid of Bliss Beryl Oakley, tho Garrison Band queen candidate, the “Hotcha” Revellers visited Pohangina on Wednesday evening and gave a splendid entertainment to an appreciative audience. Tho concert programme, in charge of Mr J. BlcDavitt, was excellent, many well-known entertainers appearing on the stago, and with Messrs Chapman Bros, leading the community singing and Mr F. BlcLachlan officiating at the piano, there was not a dull moment. After ihe concert the floor was quickly cleared bv members of the Y.M.C.A., who gave lialf-an-hcur’s entertainment with gymnastics, a clever performance showing remarkable physical fitness and ability.. The community singing was entered into heartily, many old favourites being included in the programme. Elocutionary items and lively duo tap dances were given by Blisses M. Read and J. Thompson, while Blisses M. and N. Edwards also received merited applause for their tap dancing. Blr A. Sundborn’s steel guitar items were warmly applauded, while Blr J. McGilray, ventriloquist, proved a favourite. A dance fol lowed.
