MOTOR CYCLE MISHAP.
FRONT FORKS SNAP
Per Press Association
TAUMARUNUI, Nov. 8. Miss Bessie Gadsby and Mr Edward John Tressider, both of Masterton, were proceeding to-day on a motorcycle from Taumarunui to visit relatives at Nihoniho. When descending a steep incline about a mile from Taumarunui the forks of the front wheel broke. Miss Gadsby was thrown over the front of the bicycle, striking her head, the blow being minimised by a helmet she was wearing. Mr Tressider was also thrown and both were rendered unconscious. Mr Tressider soon regained consciousness when picked up by motorists following them. Both were admitted to hospital, Miss Gadsby still being unconscious and Mr Tressider suffering from shock and abrasions.
